About Wayne County Criminal History

Wayne County criminal records are divided among the sheriff, Detroit and suburban district courts, the Third Judicial Circuit, Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Corrections, and Michigan PSOR. Our aim is to route readers to the right official portal, counter, address, or phone line without making them sort through several layers of government first.

Why We Built This Site

Michigan offers several public record channels, yet no one office holds every part of a Wayne County history. The Wayne County Sheriff controls booking and custody information. District courts and the Third Judicial Circuit keep charges, dockets, and dispositions. The Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center operates ICHAT, while MDOC runs OTIS and MSP manages the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. We bring the official contacts, search routes, costs, and request steps into one reference point.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: where to reach Wayne County Sheriff staff, court clerks, and Michigan record systems
  • Record guides: how to find and understand Wayne County court cases
  • Record cleanup information: where Michigan set-aside applications begin and which court receives them
  • Official check steps: how Michigan State Police name and fingerprint record procedures differ

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Michigan court, police department, sheriff, or state office. Our role has firm limits:

  • We cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or set-aside
  • We cannot issue certified court files, criminal histories, or other official copies
  • We cannot submit a FOIA request, set-aside application, or court filing for a reader
  • We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a person's record
  • We cannot promise that a government office will never change a fee, phone, address, or procedure

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Wayne County Sheriff, the relevant court clerk, or Michigan State Police CJIC. We can identify that source, but we cannot issue its record.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. Each provider controls its service, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports free public access to our pages. We do not set the provider's charges or decide which records it returns.
